Just ten minutes into our road trip, my husband pulled over and screamed, ‘Get out!’

Fear and anger surged through me as I held Caleb close on the side of I-17. My husband had abandoned us, leaving no phone, no way to call for help, just chaos and the roar of passing vehicles.
