The phone screen lit up with a number I didn’t recognize, but something told me to answer. “Hello?” I answered cautiously. “Hello, Sarah, this is James Lawrence.” James was a well-known name in the industry, a senior executive at a prestigious logistics firm, known for his cutting-edge projects and a keen eye for talent. “I was speaking with Rebecca,” he continued, “and she mentioned that you might be open to new opportunities. We’re in the midst of a major expansion and could really use someone with your skills and experience.” The conversation went on, and by the end, I was not only excited but also hopeful. James was offering me a position that was not only a significant step up but also came with a relocation package that would make life for Noah and me far more comfortable.
