Creating a dream home is a goal many people share, but few take an unconventional path to reach it. For Will Breaux, traditional design routes never matched his vision. After years of searching for an architect who truly understood his ideas, he made a bold decision—to design and build the home himself. With no formal construction background, he explored alternative building methods and landed on an innovative solution: transforming shipping containers into his future home.

Located on McGowen Street in Houston, the finished structure spans about 2,600 square feet and blends industrial style with modern comfort. By repurposing shipping containers, Will created an environmentally conscious, durable, and flexible living space that stands out in both design and sustainability. The three-story layout features clean lines, large windows, and open spaces that give the home a bright, welcoming feel.

One of the standout features is the rooftop deck, offering a relaxing outdoor area for gatherings and quiet moments alike. Inside, the first floor is already completed and includes a media room, bar, guest space, and studio—each reflecting Will’s personality and practical needs. While the upper levels are still being finished, they promise spacious living areas and workspaces that will further enhance the home’s functionality.

Will’s container home is more than just a striking building—it’s a testament to creativity, determination, and vision. His journey shows that with resourcefulness and courage, even the most unconventional dreams can become reality.READ MORE BELOW
