Our Meddling Neighbor Got Our Cars Towed from Our Own Driveway—She Paid a Great Price in Return

Jack and I had only been in our new rental for a day when our neighbor, Lindsey, came over with a tray of cookies. She introduced herself in a high-pitched, overly friendly way but quickly shifted to discussing neighborhood rules. Specifically, the HOA had a strict “one car per driveway” policy.

With a smile, I pointed out a small sticker on the back windshield of my car — a mark only those in the know would recognize. He informed her that her actions had disrupted an active undercover operation, costing the government $25,000.
